Rory Lynch is a guitarist, singer/songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and composer from Philadelphia, PA and is currently based in Santa Cruz, California.

Rory got his first guitar when he was 13 years old at Christmas. It has been a love affair ever since. For more than a decade Rory sat in his room and taught himself guitar and wrote his own music. After being pushed by friends to get on stage he started playing open mics in Philadelphia, NYC, and New Jersey. Soon after he was being paid to play bars, restaurants, and parties. This developmental phase allowed him to dive into the craft of songwriting by learning so many songs as well as playing live 4 to 5 nights a week.  

A few years later he was living in New York City working full-time finance job, and barely having enough time to write and play music. Although he was gigging on weekends and nights at renown venues like The Bitter End and Pianos, it just wasn’t enough.

On a whim he quit his job, escaped the city, and sought the golden beaches of California’s Central Coast. It was there that he was able to take the time to reinvent himself and focus entirely on his music. The product of this was his first major record ‘Sittin’ On The Well’ which was released in November 2022. It was the culmination of all his years of songwriting and showcases his range of genres from country to folk, from jazz to indie, with even some classical, bluegrass, and soul.

 He followed his first album up with an upbeat soul driven record ‘Here In America’ released in May 2025. He recruited grammy winners Reuben Rogers on Bass and Ulysses Owens Jr. on drums to be the backbone of the record. The rest he pieced together with local Santa Cruz talents such as Terre Lee (violin), Genoa Brown (vocals), Jack Reed (keys), Jesse Glick (guitar) and plenty more.

Before he had fans he just had really good friends who promoted his music to their friends. It has blossomed into a cult following. Rory is set to release a lot of new music in 2026. Stay tuned.
